Hello. I purchased a computer in December with the expectation of eventually upgrading the video card. After doing some research, I believe I should upgrade my PSU as well.
I was browsing Newegg and found this gem, which the forum sticky recommends as being a quality PSU:
Antec earthwatts EA380 380W ATX12V v2.0 Power Supply
However I am still ambivalent towards purchasing it (even though the offer expires tomorrow). My main concern is will the PSU work with my current mobo, and will it be enough to power my computer and new video card?
Here is an overview of my system:
Intel Core 2 Duo E4500
3 GB DDR2 (3x sticks of 1GB)
500 GB SATA HD (7200rpm)
(soon to be purchased) EVGA 8800GS Video Card
1 DVD+/- R/RW
1 logitech wireless mouse (in case that uses more or less power)
1 fan
Here are my mobo specs.
From the sticky in this thread I've gathered that the 20+4-pin connector will work in my 24-pin mobo, but I am not sure about auxilliary connectors and other compatability issues. What would you guys recommend?
