    Antec Earthwatts Mobo Compatability

Hello. I purchased a computer in December with the expectation of eventually upgrading the video card. After doing some research, I believe I should upgrade my PSU as well.

I was browsing Newegg and found this gem, which the forum sticky recommends as being a quality PSU:

    Antec earthwatts EA380 380W ATX12V v2.0 Power Supply

However I am still ambivalent towards purchasing it (even though the offer expires tomorrow). My main concern is will the PSU work with my current mobo, and will it be enough to power my computer and new video card?

Here is an overview of my system:

    Intel Core 2 Duo E4500
    3 GB DDR2 (3x sticks of 1GB)
    500 GB SATA HD (7200rpm)
(soon to be purchased) EVGA 8800GS Video Card
    1 DVD+/- R/RW
1 logitech wireless mouse (in case that uses more or less power)
    1 fan

    Here are my mobo specs.

From the sticky in this thread I've gathered that the 20+4-pin connector will work in my 24-pin mobo, but I am not sure about auxilliary connectors and other compatability issues. What would you guys recommend?

    Re: Antec Earthwatts Mobo Compatability

I dont see why it will not work on this one its a 24pin ATX power with a 4pin CPU power on the motherboard. When it shows 20+4 pin main power that is a 24pin connection so that is fine and it has the 4pin for the CPU as well on the PSU.

    Re: Antec Earthwatts Mobo Compatability

I have that very PS running an E6700 at 3.4 ghz, an X1650 ATI video card, three HDs, DVD burner, a couple of PCI cards, a Biostar P43 MB, two sticks of OCZ DDR2 800 memory, two case fans and a couple of USB devices without a single hiccup.  I think it will work fine for your setup.

    Re: Antec Earthwatts Mobo Compatability

The Antec Earthwatts 380watt PSU is a good quality seasonic-made power supply, with quiet cooling and high efficiency.  However, the Earthwatts 430watt power supply is currently on sale for $35 at newegg, $5 less than the 380watt model.
