Thinking of Adding More Memory? Read Here First!

We have published a new application note that covers a few of the basic memory upgrade questions that are asked daily.

     AN806: Memory Upgrade Resource Guide.

Nice read. The part that showed the difference in gaming between 2GB and 4GB was intriguing.

AN804 is also a good read as it is specifically for gaming. And, the playability aspect of minimum and average frame rates is much more important than max frame rate.

Re: Thinking of Adding More Memory? Read Here First!

The fact that it's DDR2 is the determining factor mostly. If you have a laptop, go look for laptop memory, if you have a desktop, look for desktop memoy......that is DDR2 667

Make sure it has the same voltage and latencies as your so you won't run into any problems.

Corsair has one out on 3GB and 6GB using an I7 CPU out.

    Clicky my linky

Seems the I7 can be memory hungry (uses it very well)

I have a Dell Dimenson 4700 with 512 MB and need to upgrade to at least 1GB for my work at home job.I went to newegg.com and am not sure how to order since I have no item #.How do I go about ordering w/o an item #?Thank you!

Re: Thinking of Adding More Memory? Read Here First!

You cannot order without an item #. First, you need to locate the item you want on Newegg's website and then select it for your cart. It is self explanatory from that point.
