I think there's no 'best' RAM. It would depend on your individual needs. I wouldn't know off-hand what would OC best on your board, so I'll leave that to the experts. Generally, I think you'll see a lot of Corsair Dominator, OCZ Reaper, Patriots.. DDR2-1066 are great bargains.

    Thought I'd start ya out.

Crucial is my brand of choice.

Other good brands include Patroiot, Corsair, etc.

I'm going to be busy this week stockpiling firearms and cash after hearing the election results.

Oh ya, left out the Crucial, great RAM as well. Might at well go 2 Gb of 800.. since it's cheap.  I'm not saying buy it *becuase* it's cheap, jus that apps in XP will use the extra kick of RAM. Who do you do with the system mostly?

I would have to say Corsair based on my personal experience.

You could try the OCZ Platinum 2x1G kit for $20 (after MIR).. just a thought.

I'm not sure what'd you gain with either. Except extra open slots with a single stick. If you don't plan on upgrading, I think you get cheaper with 2x1. IDK, anyone?

    Re: best brand of ram??

Well, you can change in BIOS, but (i'd have to look back) weren't you talking OC? You'll have a tougher time keepin stable at CL4. But I was choose the Patriot of the 2. no tech reason, just personal pref.
