Need help hooking up HDTV to computer

I need help figuring out how to hook up my computer to an HDTV. This is the HDTV in question. It doesn't have a VGA port which sucks, so right now I'm hoping there is another way for it to work together. I don't know much about HDTV's, so some tips or info is much appreciated.

    My computer:

    amd 64 x2 5000+
    2gb ram
    8800gt
    m2n-sli deluxe

    thanks

First thing you must do is reset your display resolution on your computer to the resolution of the HDTV next you would purchase either a DVI to HDMI cable or the adapter to hook up your existing video cable to HDMI and then plug it in.Cool

Re: Need help hooking up HDTV to computer

thanks for the reply, hoghauler. unfortunately, there are no plugs for hdmi, dvi, or vga cables on the tv to my knowledge. the only plugs that i know of are the ones that dvd players and game consoles use. ( the red, yellow, white things, along with the hd color plugs. ). i think i may be out of luck on this one, but is there maybe a cable that I could use??

    thanks again

Sorry about that applepie0 but when I went to the TV link you posted and then went to the TV connections page it showed it had a HDMI connection on the back. It must have something wrong there or it just shows the newer models.Surprise

    for sound

     http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-Audio-Cable-Splitter-1-Mini/dp/B00004Z5CP

( I linked to the first places I found them at, not the best deals, brands, or prices. You should be able to get them all at best buy or radio shack)

This method works for some cards and not for others. Do you have your specific 8800gt model available?

most cards come with an assortment of adapters like the ones pictured *click here click* if your card came with the adapter then you could just use a regular component cable. (or the s video but you will lose even more quality)

Re: Need help hooking up HDTV to computer

Sorry for the late replies everyone. Well, I bought the VGA-RCA cable, and I was unable to get a signal on my HDTV. I was able to get a signal with the black cable that came with my evga 8800gt (the one with 600+ reviews) but the quality kinda sucked. I believe it's the s-video cable, the all black cable with the same heads on both ends.

I tried restarting my computer with just the hdtv connected, but nothing happens. Just a 'no signal' going around the blank screens. This HDTV is pretty much cursed :(

Are there anymore suggestions or recommendations? I really woud like this TV to work with my computers rather than it just working as a television.

    Thanks again x.x

Quick edit: My HDTV has no DVI/VGA inputs by the way... this tv bites! :(
