I notice Newegg has had this up for a few days: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136284. But there is no reviews, not really any reviews from hardware sites either from what I can find. Has anyone tried out this drive?

It's a new drive. Western Digital, for a long time, had the 5400-7200RPM 'green power' 1TB drive.

The 'Black' drive, offers a 5 year warranty, and can be called more of a performance hard drive.

This link (MaximumPC) used to have a review (maybe you need an account?  it was there before, and you might wanna hang onto it), dunno where it went.  Found this, maybe they're re-writing it or something...

It's a solid drive, from what that review showed, but it doesn't quite beat the F1, and it's more expensive.  I think the Black line might be more fun in the future, but who knows.

I still can't find any Hardware site reviews. Looks like a Newegger bought one and has a review pending for it. Very weird, usually hardware sites have a review up before something even hits the general market but this has been out for over a week.

 That review reads like a press release, and your link shows benchmarks for the WD 1TB GP drive.
