Compatible HD for Dell Inspiron 6000?

I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 from 2005, and it only supports ATA HD's. I'm wondering if this HD will be compatible/fit my laptop:

It should fit just fine. The 2.5" drives are industry standard for 99% of notebooks out there. You already did the research for ATA or SATA and that's the big thing. Cheers!

Note when you remove your current drive that there MAY be an "adapter" over the connector pins.  If it IS present, then this adapter must be removed and placed onto the new hard drive.

Re: Compatible HD for Dell Inspiron 6000?

i'm trying to decide if i should buy the drive that was aforementioned above in the first post (250g 5400rpm), or if i should buy a hitachi 7200rpm 80g HD and then get an external HD for mass storage? what should i do? there are 2 80g 7200rpm HD's but i can't seem to find a difference between them:

it seems that the second one consume more power and need extended power.

if i were you, ill buy a 7200rpm HD and then get an extended HD for storage. my 5400rpm 160G HD is not bad, but the 7200rpm hd will make the rig run faster.
