    Audio chipset

I am planning to buy a P45 Mobo, and can anyone tell me the difference between these two onboard audio cards?

P5Q-E maximum supports 16GB memory and the other one supports 8GB, this is okay for me cos I will never use that much memory: P

And another difference is onboard audio:

     Audio Chipset  ADI AD2000B

     Audio Chipset  Realtek ALC1200

    Is there much difference?

    Re: Audio chipset

There will be no difference in the onboard audio quality...some people hate Realtek Audio but to me all onboard audio are the same, sound great for mp3's and simple stuff, don't expect much out of games or anything else.

As for the memory, yeah if you don't need it don't sweat it. The P45's seem to be great boards overall.

    Good luck

    That's what she said...

    Re: Audio chipset

If you look on ASUS website, the only difference is that P5Q-E, it says

    1.

"AI Audio 2 creates a virtual center channel that expands the overall sound field without introducing a picket fencing effect. Preserving the dialogue or solo performances with downmixing from multichannels will allow you to experience true-to-life high quality audio."

    2.

"Enjoy high-end sound system on your PC!
The onboard 8-channel HD audio (High Definition Audio, previously codenamed Azalia) CODEC enables high-quality 192KHz/24-bit audio output, jack-sensing feature, retasking functions and multi-streaming technology that simultaneously sends different audio streams to different destinations. You can now talk to your partners on the headphone while playing a multi-channel network games. All of these are done on one computer."

In addition to the Noise filtering.

P5Q-Pro only lists the Noise filtering
