I made this post in a different section of the forum, but I didn't get any definitive answers:
I have a computer that died on me a few years back. I had many good
memories with it, but it wasn't until now that I got enough experience
with computers to try and troubleshoot the problem.
Today, I took
it out of my closet and tried to get it running. No luck. *Skips
forward two hours.* I removed all the drives and adapters, and it
powered on, with no error codes or warning lights. I plugged the video
and sound card back in, and it still worked. However, as soon as I
plugged in the drives (HDD, two disc, floppy) it failed.
When
unplugged from the motherboard, everything powers on and runs. The hard
drive clicks, and the disc drives open and close. However, when I plug
them in to the mobo, they don't run. I am at a loss.
