at 2ms response time that means you wont really see ghosting until you are getting over 500fps and at 5ms that is 200fps. response time is just how fast the screen can refresh the image.

its like you can still see the outline of the last frame over the new frame giving like a strobe like effect.

Open your control panel, open the mouse settings, go to the pointer options tab, and click display mouse trails.  Apply it and move your mouse around.  That is a very exaggerated version of what ghosting would look like.  Basically the time they give is how long it takes a pixel to turn from one color to another.  At high framerates on a monitor without a fast enough response time anything that moves fast will have what looks like a trail behind it.

    it means double image

    here it is:

and most of 24' lcds have 5ms respond time. of course, 2ms is better, but i am afraid it is hard  to  find a 24' lcd with 2ms respond time. and yep, most of 22' lcds have 2ms respond times.

    Re: 22'' 2ms vs 24'' 5ms

Ghosting actually refers to seeing a slightly offset, faded image. Motion blur is the effect u get when the LCD can't update the screen fast enough.

And response time is an important feature. It's measured in milliseconds (ms) and the smaller the value is, the better the response time is. For gaming or watching videos, I'd rather get a faster responser time. 22" 2ms would be my first choice.well, anyway the screen size really doesn't matter a lot. lol

    Re: 22'' 2ms vs 24'' 5ms

The distance you are away shouldn't be much of a factor...either way, 4ms is still good and wont have much if any effect on gaming. I would go for the 24"

    Re: 22'' 2ms vs 24'' 5ms

If you like playing games, I think it is better to choose the 22’ 2ms. With a short response time,

it would be possible to avoid the offset when the scene is changing very fast.

Well, it’s really giddy to see a view like this.

I am a big fan of higher resolutions, and believe that should be a big factor in your decision.  The world is so much better at a higher resolution.  If you go with a 22" monitor, you're probably looking at a 1680 x 1050 resolution.  It is great for games, but getting to 1200 on the height is much better for browsing websites, typing documents, or doing anything that would usually require some scrolling.  I actually prefer a 20" non-widescreen monitor at 1600 x 1200 than the 22" wide screens.

    .....but....

If you want the best of it all, and have the video card to support it, a 24" widescreen monitor at 1920 x 1200 will make your single-monitor multi-tasking excel!  Games on a bigger screen are much better, and some games will actually show you more stuff.  If your videocard can't handle it, then a 24" monitor will drive you nuts in games.

The difference between 2ms and 5ms is almost indistinguishable to the human eye.  If you can see a difference, then you have one amazing machine, or you've got a software problem.
