which one should I choose?

Ummm would you try defining your needs? as well as the system it will be running on?

Its like gms said depends on what you need it for, personally, and this is only in my opinion, if your going for gaming, vista x64 would probably be the way to end up going due to DX10, and its honestly not that bad since SP1 has been released. I can notice a considerable difference between 32 and 64 in vista. XP x64 never really had programs or drivers developed as much for it, most were scarce, but if you aren't planning for gaming XP would be fine. Thats my opinion.

Ok well I am going to be using it for mild gaming, overclocking, standard home use, video editing.

I have a simular setup as seen below in my post, and vista 64 weither gaming, or not its still just really nice. Tried windows xp 32 and had to swtich back to vista 64bit which really takes advatage of the cpu, and ram. Not to mention I can even run games that came out before 64 bit os so I am yet to find a game I cant play on vista 64.

Its become really stable and xp is losing support soon. And dx10 is really nice to play expesically running a card(gpu) like you'll have.

Yup, I'm the same way, I run Vista Ultimate SP1 64-Bit, and it is overall running extremely well. I'm yet to have an issue with it. Also, I have the acer 22" and its a great monitor, good way to go.

go with vista, is there any good reasons that you should not go with vista 64bit?

Your making a good choice!! The hardware drivers in vista-64 bit are alot better than win xp pro 64-bit,Plus you get to run DX 10 games in DX 10 they look alot better.

The Vista ultimate 64bit can make your computer work in the best performance. It supports DirectX10 .Your hardware will be in max running level in Vista instead of in XP.
