Alright, so I'm completely new to overclocking, and I've always been very hesitant to doing so. I'm about to be ordering a new system with the Q9450 and nForce 780i, I heard that overclocking on this processor/motherboard is very easy, and you can go to 3.0-3.2Ghz without any problem.

 Since I'm completely new to this, how would I go about overclocking this? If you have any links to guides, that'd be great!

go into BIOS and change your core clock.

Overclocking is a simple scienece that is easy to do but hard to predict.

Nothing is a full all out given, though some overclocks are much easier to get than others.

It's basically you giving more juice to your hardwear to play with so it can run faster.

With a 780i you'll just have to hit the delet key when the system posts then go into the bios and tweak a few settings.

Here's a good guide that should be some help.

Just be sure to monitor your temps with speed fan and core temp, and check for stability with memtest and prime 95 :-)

I read the guide that you've posted, Alucard, but do you have any other guides that you've found? I felt that one was poorly written and the only part that was simple to understand was the table which displayed the stable configurations for the Q9450.

Edit: Now that I've read it a few times, it makes a bit more sense. From what I've read though, you can simply change the FSB speed up to 3.0 Ghz without touching any of the other BIOS settings. Not sure if there's any ground to that, but any other opinions would be great regarding overclocking this processor!
