I can no longer save my "sort preference" when displaying a
search result. It's like something happened to NewEgg's global site cookie? For
example, I used to be able to "search within" for "Lowest Price" and it
would stay that way from session to session. Now it always defaults to "Best
Match".
Is anyone else seeing this behavior since last week?
It occurs at my job as well on a different network, and on co-workers' machines too.
I'd love to get it stick for "Lowest price" again like it used to in the past.
=====
I got this response from a question to NewEgg about it but nothing here helped:
Things
to try:
-
Enable Cookies.
- Enable JavaScript.
- In IE, set security profile to medium.
- In IE, Enable "Override automatic cookie handling" to allow cookies.
(Tools > Internet Options > Privacy tab > Advanced).
- Clear existing cookies and cache (temporary internet files), you may
go to (system partition):\Documents and Settings\ (your system account
name)\Cookies\ and delete all the files manually;
- In Firefox, the setting "network.http.sendRefererHeader" is set to 1.
(type "about:config" in address bar)
- Make sure the date/time on your computer is not way off for your time
zone.
- Check router settings if there is a router, make sure the firmware
for the router is the newest.
-
Make sure you did not block our site and our image cache server called
AKAMAI.
If
you have tried all these above and the problem persists, please try the
following solution for your issue: adding Newegg host record into your
computer:
Please
go to C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc, and then open up the hosts file
with notepad. Inside that file, please add one more row
“216.52.208.185 www.newegg.com" and another row
"216.52.208.188 secure.newegg.com".
Your
patience and understanding regarding this issue is greatly
appreciated. Any further concern, please feel free to let us know.
