    OC Your ATI VC

Ok people ATI's new 8.5 drivers are out as of May 2008 and they added a twist to the program upgrade. You can now test and automaticaly OC your ATI GPU and it gives you the temperature of the GPU and the clock speeds at which it will work.Woohoo

    Re: OC Your ATI VC

    Cool.. good info.

Does this apply to all ATI's GPUs across the board, or just for the more receant GPUs. ie HD 3800 series?

Yea, I'm wondering what he is talking about as well. ATi Overdrive is what i think he is talking about, but that has been out since Catalyst 6.x.

Anyways I used Overdrive with my 2900XTs til I realized it put up a wall at 858MHz. Uninstalled CCC, reinstalled display drivers and got around 925MHz through Hex BIOS editing.

    Re: OC Your ATI VC

Alright guys its new to me after all the problems with the extra software manufacturers add to their products on the CD's I only load the drivers and to H*LL with the rest of the junk until a friend told me you needed to download the full version of the ATI software & drivers updates to make the best use of the new F@H 6.12 beta version. So while checking the software out thats when I found all these extra benefits and now they are out with 8.6 ATI updates.Cool

    Re: OC Your ATI VC

    Just wondering???

Yeh I usually don't install a lot of extras but then again Epox never provided too much except their monitoring program since boards were made for overclocking.  Yeh always go for the graphics drivers from ATI or Nvidia site.  I usually get my drivers form the manufacturer also as in like realtek for realtek audio or there is cmedia along with others.  Same with network drivers and chipset drivers.  Usually the most up to date drivers are from whoever produces the chip/chipset/card.

Some do provide a lot of BS though.  Most is usable to some point.

    Re: OC Your ATI VC

Don't I know it, back when 98SE came out I was loading all the software that came with the driver cd's and playing havoc with M$ after about 20-30 reloads and/or repairs I finally learnt my lesson that that stuff was trialware/shareware and about 95% was not even compatable with M$ OS's. Knockout
