Re: Black Sabbath - Iron Man

Yepper that was some good music back then and I still have about 300-400 33 1/3 albums that need to be put on CD if I ever get the time. Yes, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Santana, Black Sabbeth, Urriah Heep, Kansas, Molly Hatchet, Grandfunk Railroad, Stcks, Hendricks, Jefferson Airplane/Starship, LedZeplon and on and on and on. That does bring back old memories of good times, good women and good music!Groovy

Re: Black Sabbath - Iron Man

I have not bought any new music since I was stationed in the UK back in 82-86 when they had a sale on Master Cuts if you know what I'm talking about. It was Moody Blues - Caught Live + 5 album and Neil Diamonds - Harvest Moon album. Heck I still have 78 albums and 45's.OldMan

Re: Black Sabbath - Iron Man

Yes I did watch it but after 2 or 3 of the videos it did get kind of gaudy. I like to lay back and just let the music envelope me videos unless done right tend to subtract from the music. I do enjoy a lot of different music but unfortunatly Disco, Hip Hop, Rap and Punk Rock never made it to my list of music to listen to. I do enjoy classical, jazz, blues, C & W and Rock & Roll though I have noticed that a lot of music tends to have a mixture of various types of music included into their catagories.Big Smile

Re: Black Sabbath - Iron Man

Yes it can get a little bit gaudy I agree. Yes a video can subtract from the music at times how ever this one was actually very good it shows home videos as well. For Jazz I do have Miles Davis, Louie Armstrong, B.B. King. Nora Jones, Dianne Reves, Jaco Pastorius, and Joni Mitchell just to name a few in my collection. Jazz is great to listen to along with the Blues and blue grass.

Re: Black Sabbath - Iron Man

Yes Louie Armstrong and BB King are 2 of my favorites but I picked up some John Mayall's albums back in the 70's at the time it was modern jazz with a little blues mixed in. You like bluegrass alright I used to go out to the bluegrass festivals in Tennessee when I was a kid visiting my grandparents. I could sit and listen to good banjo & fidel playing for hours.BooHoo

Re: Black Sabbath - Iron Man

The very first blues festival I ever been to and loved the music was New Orleans (Boren there just raised in Vegas). And the first bluegrass festival was in the ATL. John Mayall's is great I like most of his music.

Re: Black Sabbath - Iron Man

Yes I went to New Orleans once for a practical joke on my roommate at the time, but it was off season so not much open on Bourban street or anywhere in the French Quarter. If you dig instrumentals I know you have heard of Mike Oldsfield and his Tubular Bells album while I was in London I found a back street music shop that had his latest couple of albums that never made it to the USA and they were pretty good. Then I came across a deal for the Climax Blues Band picked up like 5 or 6 albums for like $20 brand new still in the wrapper.Woohoo

Ummm Bourban oh the street sorry. Stick out tongue Any way yes I know who you are speaking of but never really heard his music while down there at that time. Damn 5- 6 for $20 thats a damn good price. When I was down there  I did hear a lot of B.B., Armstrong, and Oscar Peterson. I do like visiting there but I would not want to live there at all.

Re: Black Sabbath - Iron Man

I agree a nice place to visit but I would not want to live there. Yep had a friend who started a record company and the wholesalers he bought from would throw in some oldie goldies that they could not get rid of when ever he placed a large order and he would sell them for $2-$4 each so he made me a package deal when I bought about 20 albums, it worked out to about $5 per album overall.Yes
