EggXpert

We the people of eggxpert are falling way behind in the F@H arena we have thousands of members and only about 80 are folding. We need to find away to get our members folding whether it takes incentive's, competitions or some kind of rewards, there are teams out there with less than 200 members that have 50,000,000 + points and we have 2,940,000 points. Yes I know some teams have been folding since it started and the egg is only a year old but we have the members they are just not folding, maybe talk to Newegg and see if they would help either by folding with some of their computers or put up some incentive's.

I agree. I see no reason our egg staff couldn't run F@H on their office machines to support the team.

Some swag would be sweet but I fold for the cause regardless so not a big deal to me. It may help motivate those people who fold for a week and vanish though. (some sort of competitions would be really cool it sure would motivate me to buy more stuff from the egg lol)

I think given the age of the team and how few are actually folding 24/7 we are doing pretty good staying in the top 500 and climbing. 

The swag does not phase me either but I was looking for ways to get more people to F@H for Team eggxpert and incentive's was just 1 idea, now if we had a Team eggxpert STATS page maybe it would draw a little more attention to the project. Most people don't deal with death or the loss of a loved one till they reach their 50's so they don't deal with it till it happens but those of us who have dealt with it at an earlier age tend to realize not only are we helping others but we could be helping friends, family and ourselves in the long run.

ya, unfortunately it doesn't seem too many people share our feelings about folding. I was hoping this thread would be a little more popular.

I really wanna advocate ur decent idea, but my office computer has a quite strict limitation on the internet usage, so is my notebook. Coz it's offered by my company.  well, but...i know lots of my friends do run with F@H. Anyway, great idea and it worths a pop topic.

Thanks for the support maple we are looking to find ways of increasing support and particapation from our fellow members here. If we can find something to stimulate our members interest and get them to F@H even if its only in their spare time. If anyone has some better ideas or suggestions please post them.

I think the ideas your brought up were great. I really wish we could get an egg staffer to post maybe we should pm them a link to the thread lol (age of Conan early access stars in 5 min, i'll be gone for the day lol)

Thats very true but what would be better is if we could get some of the other F@H team members to start posting and support these ideas. HINT/HINT

                  If you get CheapAsianGamerGuy to fold for us, we get the score up very dramatically due to his E6850 and QX9650 combo.

Its not just CAGG we need as many as we can get. Some feel they don't want to leave their systems running 24/7 others think it will slow down their machine and others just don't care about F@H or know about it.

Hydrogen had a good idea in the folding@home thread. Badges for eggies who fold!

Yes it was a good idea.

How about making a post much like the one in the F@H area, but in the discussions area, to tell what it is and introduce people to it.

Also you could give a link to the EggXperts stats page at F@H so they can see how we are doing so far.

If you decide to, I'll give it a stickey.

I never knew about this but after searching wikipedia for what you were talking about I read up on it, sounds cool. I've got 3 computers I could have crunching numbers all day long to help.

can someone let me know what I should do and where is a reliable source to download the client.

Ok Gametech here is the info you need for F@H which is Folding@Home but does not take you to their pages so I will post a link after some basic explainations. F@H has various programs to download depending on what OS you use and how powerful a rig you have so we start at the basics 1-5.03 = P4 and older rigs running 2000, XP and Vista. 2-5.04 = Windows NT, 2000, XP and Vista. 3-5.04Linux and BSD (X86). 4-6.02 beta 1 = Linux (X86-64 bit, only) + Mac and others you can read the link it explains it better than I.

Good news, the latest beta finally worked in my rig, so I'm folding too.  

I am getting absent minded in my old age and still trying to get my other computers up and folding. Congradulations  is that the 6.01 beta?

I forget what one. I haven't checked to see if one would work or not in a few month, this one works, no were near perfectly, but it works, lol.

Yes I know what your saying I just got the wife's computer up and folding with 5.04, after trying 5.03 she has 1 WU completed for the team. Now just 3 more to go.
