Manga (what we are reading now)
I am starting to get back into manga. The story I am liking the best so far is Puri Puri. It's not normally a manga I thought I would like but the cover art was cute so I bought it. The story is about a young man looking to become a priest and is going to seminary. Unlucky for him, or lucky depending on how you are rooting for him, he gets transferred to an all gals school as the gals have become out of hand and the head father think a male student presence will force the gals to clean up their act. But the gals do not like him, as the 1st male transfer student, and go about doing their best to get him expelled. Its basic silliness and I have only read book one so far but I like it enough to get book two. I picked up a few more mangas at the same time. If I like them I will post about them here. (wow these cost allot now days)
So what manga are you currently reading (currently, not in the past) Post the name here and let us know what you think of it with limited spoilers. ^_^

Re: Manga (what we are reading now)
I'm reading a number of series now. As new volumes come out, I read Ah Megami Sama, Ai Yori Aoshi, Bleach, Buso Renkin, Claymore, Enchanter, Faerie's Landing, Fullmetal Alchemist, Kamui, My Hime, Negima, Rozen Maiden, Sakura Taisen, Shakugan no Shana, and maybe a couple more I missed. Too many to try to summarize all of them, plus I expect people familiar with anime and/or manga will recognize most of the titles. I'd like to bring attention to Faerie's Landing, though. It's based on a Korean folk tale about a faerie who gets her special dress ripped so she can't return to heaven, so she has to live as a human. The human falls under a curse, and the faerie has to help him out. There's something like 18 or 19 volumes out so far, and I've enjoyed it immensely.

Re: Manga (what we are reading now)
I've been reading up a lot lately at (Link removed do to rules violation.)
Currently reading: Psyren (16) Naurto (396) Katekyo Hitman Reborn! (187) Deadman Wonderland (10) *Fairy Tale (26) *666 Satan (26) All of which I'm enjoying immensely so far. Although the ones with the * next to it I'm starting to loose faith in.

Ah Naurto, the anime and Manga that never seems to end. ^_^ rdaniels do you read the original Japanese? I see you listed Sakura Taisen and that has not been released in the US that I have heard. Or are you reading a fan translation?

Re: Manga (what we are reading now)
It is pretty good. I also quite enjoyed the TV series, check it out when you have time. I think they actually translated it to "Sakura Wars" for the TV show.

Re: Manga (what we are reading now)
I'll be getting Read or Dream 1-4 in a few days, and also Claymore 6-10.
I also want to get more Hellsing manga. Thats a good one. BTW, does anyone know when geneon/whoever picked up geneon will be releasing more of Hellsing Ultimate? I started watching that again.

Your talking anime now I am thinking and not manga. I have heard mixed informations on the geneon anime titles that are in limbo. I had read that ADV was going to take over but then I just read in the new PIQ magizeen that replaced New Type that that did not turn out like it was 1st reported and things are not going smoothly. My guess we will have to wait for the licenses geneon USA has now to expire and another company like Rightstuf or ADV to pick them up. I have read about a couple series moving to Anime Works but no news on the series you mention. -------------------- Lets keep this thread for manga though.

Re: Manga (what we are reading now)
Got the newest volumes of most of the series I listed before, plus Banner of the Stars 1 & 2 - good stuff! Also picked up the AMG: First End novel, but I haven't made it far enough to form an opinion on it yet. I'll have to check out Puri Puri. It sounds like something right up my alley. I really enjoyed Love Hina.

Re: Manga (what we are reading now)
Right now I'm on chapter 26 of Battle Royale. I think it's endlessly amusing.
You really don't want to know what it's about if you don't already.

Re: Manga (what we are reading now)
I just completed the series Kashimashi and I wrote a short review for it. --------------------- I have just completed the entire Kashimashi series and I am near a loss
for words. Reading this last book in this oft sweet and funny tale of
girls growing up and learning what true love is I found myself having
to set it aside for a moment while I gathered myself. Never have I read
a book, save the Bible, that touched mei as deeply as Kashimashi and
its story of Hazumu Kun the young boy turned into a girl. Mei hands where shaking, eyes filled with tears, and I had to
force mei self to turn the pages as I got closer and closer to the end.
Over the 5 book series I to had fallen in love. In love with the girls
and their stories sure, but also the over whelming feeling of freshness
and wonder at what it is to truly love another person, and I just did
not want it to end. (tears)
This is a mark of a truly great story one that will keep with the
reader long after the last page is turned and the feelings and memories
begin to fade like a dream or childhood memory. But in the case of
Kashimashi you can revisit Hazumu and her friends any time you like and
I know I will be reading the series again, very soon. (I read the 1st
book in the series 3 times in just 2 days) ^_^
If you even remotely enjoy stories of love, friendship and the
lives they touch and shape this series is for you. Pick it up and you
will fall in love, this is a promise from mei. Goodbye Hazumu Kun,
Yasuna Chan and the lovely little Tormari Chan, until next time, hugs
(whips away a tear), goodbye.

Re: Manga (what we are reading now)
I'll have to read that one. Sounds like it's on the opposite end of the plot spectrum from Battle Royale...although I'm still endlessly amused with it so far.

Wow, MeiLing, I'm touched and intrigued by your review, I'll read that one for sure.
BTW, I'm reading Vampire Knight and Inuyasha.
