There should be an event hosted in Dallas.

In fact, give me a budget and I'll plan/execute it.

    Re: 50 MAN LAN - SOCAL (March 22, 2008)

lol I would except my pos can barely handle any of the new games... I have to play Crysis on all low settings and still only max out at 30 fps. :/

hahaha plus, at least im not still playing cs 1.6 :p

    Re: 50 MAN LAN - SOCAL (March 22, 2008)

I would have given you more credit if IT WAS 1.6 and not CSS.

BTW your comp is more than enough to take on the official games of the LAN. Quake3 is a 8yr old game. CODUO is a 4+/- year old game. BF2 has the highest system requierments, but I belive you meet them.

Your only problem will be later on in the event when people start to put up COD4 and your mouth drops and hits the floor.

If you are down to play the games the group is playing, WITH THE GROUP, I welcome anyone! If you need a ride, that can be worked out.

    Re: 50 MAN LAN - SOCAL (March 22, 2008)

We already have several dedicated machines for hosting servers. Included are multiple COD4 server configs.

At the LAN we are going to try and get everyone into the same game at the same time. Hint the reason for 50 person servers :P

When the official game list has run its course, then it will be time for COD4 a** kickin time!

Sooo... leave the game server at home. But feel free to load up your rig with shares of your favorite *demos* and *trial-ware* of course ;)

...we will have multiple 24 port gigabit switches for your leeching!

...One computer per person due to power limitations.

    Thanks!

    Re: 50 MAN LAN - SOCAL (March 22, 2008)

In addition to our current sponsors...

    Cocaine Energy Drink
    Nvidia
    AMD/ATI
    Patriot
    CPU Magazine

Newegg and EggXpert have hooked us up as well with some random merchandise.

    100 Window Clings

    50 Cups

    10 Shirts

    15 backpacks

    20 keychains

    25 Orange bags

    10 Newegg gift bags

    10 Eggxpert gift bags

You won't see anything along the lines of say a video card, cpu or motherboard on that list. They save those goodies for the Newegg LANfest LAN Parties! But none the less its great to see Newegg support and sponsor the smaller local events!

Once again, they come through! I can't say the same for most hardware vendors and corporations.

If anyone happens to have a contact in the hardware or software industry that me be interested in sponsoring a 50 person event, be sure to let me know!

     Thanks!

    Re: 50 MAN LAN - SOCAL (March 22, 2008)

Our next event may happen sooner than later. Check back at www.lanmaniac.com from time to time to see if there are any 50 MAN LAN updates.

Our next event is looking to be a little south of Los Angeles. About 30 miles south of reseda.
