So where are the benchmarks for these babies?  Who would buy one without seeing the performance first?

WOW, those prices are very competitive and they just came out.

So imagine in a another month or so when prices go down further.

9800GX2 and 9800GTX to follow soon.

The onslaught on ATI will continue...

Re: Geforce 9600GT is on newegg.

eh, i think ill still wait a bit

its not that much of a performance benefit over the high end 8's, such as the 8800 gts or gtx

check out this review- its been benchmarked already:

I'll wait for the 9800GX2 and the 9800GTX, the 9600GT doesn't attract me much.

Most of reviews I saw showed the HD3870 and 9600GT neck to neck.

The most reliable reviews would be tomshardwares reviews or Anandtech IMO.

Re: Geforce 9600GT is on newegg.

I was in the market to SLI two 8800GTs but now that 9600GTs are a more affordable option (at more or less the same performance) I was wondering exactly what the difference was between the two. I found that there were small differences with the core clock among other things... as well as "stream processes." What exactly does this mean as the stream processes on a 9600GT are much lower than an 8800GT?

I would agree with ish on this.  It seems like the 9600GT and HD3870 runs quite similar with the exception in some games.  http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=3235 latest price vs performance review HD3870 vs 9600GT.

Expect 9800GT in late march or april :) along with the 9800GTX

    Hi all,

I have an older setup with an ASUS a8n-sli premium motherboard. Will this card work on this older motherboard, with 2 PCI-E (x16) ports?

    Thanks,
    Cameron

Yes it would, PCI-E 2.0 is backwards compatible

Its looking like the 8800GT is still the better buy for the same price range, as far as Nvidia goes.

Re: Geforce 9600GT is on newegg.

Anybody know how this card does against the 8800GTS (G92) ?
I am ready to order my system and if the 9600GT is as good I can save myself about a $70.

Re: Geforce 9600GT is on newegg.

http://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/1293/4/page_4_test_system_setup_and_3dmark06/index.html if you look at the review, the 8800GT beat the 9600GT by good 10-15%, so I am guessing the 8800GTS G92 will be at least 25% better than this card at higher than 1680 X 1050 resolution.

Re: Geforce 9600GT is on newegg.

You cant necessarily just look at sights and determine wether one card is better than another.

It depends also on your entire system working with the card.
