Re: how much have you overclocked your processor

Get ahold of me when you do, I maybe able to give you some help or even pointers, I just think water cooling is over rated now, hsf have come a long way and if i can get 4ghz on air, theres not much more you can get out of it on water, and is 200mhz worth 350$ in water cooling, i think not. but let me know, ill help you out all i can

Re: how much have you overclocked your processor

I actually spent $175 for the complete system.

It works really well. And I have a Zalman 9700NT but I don't like how loud it is. I can just keep adding radiators to it if it gets that bad which at most I'd need 3 total, I have 1 right now and will add another 120mm soon. I got it awhile ago before the Zalman 9500 and 9700 came out btw. I actually went back to air awhile ago because i didn't need it for the 3000+, but I did kinda for AM2 I just needed the clip which I have now. But my ultimate goal is 4GHz and then work from there.

    I have an E4300 1.8Ghz Core2Duo and it runs at 2.997Ghz with 1.4v (333x9) completely stable!

Re: how much have you overclocked your processor

I understand, but to get it stable at that speed you need a lot of voltage atleast i did, i needed 1.75v to run some of my benchmarks but other than that i took only 1.65v to do it, my computer will boot up fine at 4 ghz with 1.57v but it will crash frequently

Re: how much have you overclocked your processor

That's pretty high voltages. You will need good cooling to keep things cool, at least well below 70c. I noticed there's a temp/performance ratio with CPU's. For instance, I can run 4.06GHz under -18c water... http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=15514

5400+ Brisbane 3.3.  At 3.4 audio encoding would crash in PCmark05 but seems good at 3.3 have to run some more tests but should be fine.  Would really like to get the 3.4 though.

Sorry about the small pic as the last images uploaded at 800x500 and I'm not sure why these uploaded at 640x400.  Must be trying to reduce bandwidth???????  Even tried different res uploading to no avail.

Thats what I have so far with my A64 X2 5k+ BE but in alittle bit I will be playing around with it some more, For some reason going with 15.5 and stock voltage doesn't work nicely for me.

Thanks.  It really feels good to play those high end games without breaking the bank.

Hey, nice workmanship!  Your case looks neat and clean.  It's pretty amazing to see a fully OC'd gear like yours and yet portable enough to bring to lanparties.  Nice job.

Re: how much have you overclocked your processor

Thanks, I re-routed everything and it looks completely different now, I'll take pictures and post them tonight.  It is a heavy thing though. Its about 50-60 lbs.  But i do have to say it has been running all week with any reboots.  When I had a DFI x48 it would reboot and my voltages were off the charts but I got into this gigabyte x48 and it has been running a lot cooler.
