Mine Big Smile Currently on a Silent Square EVO. I prefer to stay at 3.0GHz due to its a balance of speed + temperature. I get around 42-48C Load with good hard core gaming. Barley hit 58C on 11 Hours of Prime95. Smile

Might go a little higher in the future with watercooling, but people have been telling me I am d*mn lucky to even get to 3GHz on a B3 Q6600. Unuts

Re: how much have you overclocked your processor

actually, 3ghz is really easy to achieve, you should be getting around 3.4-3.6, i can get mine all day long at 4ghz, but voltages scare me, i have my prime stable at 3.584ghz. When you start again to o/c, try setting your bios to a setting no more than 1.5v when registering with cpuz, that will also give you around 58c too, try 425x8 with 1.475v in bios, it should register in cpuz around 1.42-1.44v you will definitely be able to achieve 3.4 with ease

Hmm really? I'd love to get up to that :), do you think I can do it on my current aircooling, or go for water?

HOLY SH*T 4Ghz on AIR? Damn.... Wish I had G0 stepping, CA Warehouse sucks Sad ... Well, I'll try to get to atleast 3.5GHz, what cooler + what temperatures do you get? That sounds kickass at 4.0GHz on air... In the 2k in 3Dmark, I barley get 1300 lol

Re: how much have you overclocked your processor

Im using a tuniq tower 120, my temps never go over 62c when benching, will not do a prime stable test as that will not pass at all, but I just like to bench it sometimes at those speeds.  I can get it prime stable at 3.825ghz but I have to use to much voltage and dont like to run it at 1.55v as that is what it takes for my cpu to get it stable, so I run it at 3.552 ghz with my memory @ 550 mhz fsb or 1100 mhz  on the memory and 1700mhz fsb on the cpu. Not bad I must say but im gearing towards a qx9650 at around 4.5-5.0 ghz  in the near future, i found the cpu online for 875$ so if i can get it at that price i will buy it.

Re: how much have you overclocked your processor

My old AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Winchester I was able to get stable at 2.7GHz on stock air cooling. I tried for 2.8GHz but it was being stubborn, even when I upgraded to liquid cooling.

    I was using:

    AMD Athlon 64 3000+ 1.8GHz Winchester

DFI Lanparty UT Expert Nforce 4 SLI

    2GB Corsair Value PC3200

    Ultra X-Ifinity 600W

    Currently I've gotten my AMD Athlon X2 5200+ AM2 stable at 3.1GHz from 2.6GHz

    Currently using:

    AMD Athlon X2 5200+ AM2 2.6GHz @ 3.1GHz

DFI Lanparty UT Nforce 590 SLI AM2

4GB Corsair XMS2 Dominator 800MHz (Could go farther then 927MHz but it's fully stable with 4-4-4-12 timings and seems like it could go farther with same timings)

Thermaltake Toughpower 850W Quad SLI Quad 12V Rails

Can't wait to get (Will be my first Intel build ever):

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 (Penryn if I can afford it) and get to 4GHz on liquid cooling

    DFI Lanparty UT Intel X38

    (Keeping the dominator ram)

EVGA 8800GTS G92 512MB (Step up to 9800GX2 upon release)

Second radiator for my Thermaltake Bigwater 745 (Not using the external radiator, getting a bay radiator)

And then the Dominator fans since the DIMM slots are on the other side of the cpu socket (Currently right next to exhaust fan)

Going to have some fun with my new system.  Stick out tongue

BTW I was 15 when I hit 2.7GHz on that Winchester. going to be 18 in 8 days and want to become a master overclocker as I'm addicted to the challenge. Guns

Re: how much have you overclocked your processor

mines got up pretty far as you can see in my specs. Everything is completely stable, i run prime95 about 3 times a month to make sure everythings good and a powerful liquid cooling kit keeps it idle @ 23 Celsius and 39 Celsius under load.

Re: how much have you overclocked your processor

thats pretty good, I got to 3.1 with my 5200+, dont plan on 4ghz prime stable on water cooling with the q6600, you have to send it too many volts but 3.8 is totally possible though, remember i can get mine to 4ghz but heat and voltage is an issue so i cant go prime stable at that speed. I dont think water cooling can even solve it as well, hsf have caught up with water cooling on quad cores and water cant get rid of the heat on a quad, so dont plan on it but you might be able to do it, I know you can get it on air but getting rid of the heat is an issue.

Re: how much have you overclocked your processor

Ya I knew it was going to be a challenge from the beginning which makes me want to do it all the more. If it's still a lot of heat I can just add more radiators. I won't be getting the setup finished for a few more months. But I'll let you know on my progress once I do since I don't intend to play games until I hit the max oc.
