Hey, thanks. I'll have to look into it. I'm still investing in my server but my next project is a gaming rig. unfortunately, that won't be until 6 months from now. I'd like to search for a venue near the DFW area for us Eggxperts. I know there are a few places that are setup specifically for LAN gaming in Frisco--can't remember the company but some friends of mine said it's great--just costs a little money. The more we could get, though, the cheaper it would be for all of us.

That's awesome. I'd be going to (with my trusty Word Laptop haha) if it wasn't for the fact I have a wedding to attend. Say hi to Cheap for me, I know he is going there with his 3K system.

And I'm sure there are others here from Mexico |o.O|

    Re: LAN Games Here

I'd like to join one if anyone is in the Jacksonville, Florida area.

I own a house with my own office and 3 computers (working on a 4th) but I don't have alot of excess room, there's always the garage though, haha.

Maybe I'll try hosting one sometime, I just don't know how I feel about a bunch of strangers being in my home and knowing where I live.

    That's what she said...

    Re: LAN Games Here

For those living in apartments and wanting to host a LAN party, may i recommend renting out the "Club House" that most apts have. This is ideal, even more so than people in brick and motar houses.

I used to host 18+ hour LAN parties of 15-30 people and the renting the club house was ideal.

    PROS:

    ROOMY!

FREE! (Usually. Most times, you have to put down a deposit, but you get that back as long as nothing is destroyed)

Enough power (big conern when you have 20 some rigs and monitors)

It usually has a TV (bring a console and lots of controllers for those who like to play consoles)

Kitchen! You know.. for foods and stuffz.

    Plenty of parking

The one I rented even had a pool table for those that really wanted to play something different.

I recommend bringing extra surge protectors, ethernet cables, power cables, and extension cables . Make sure you have enough tables and chairs.

Heck yeah, just a few more people and its a must do.  If we get some more interest, should we talk about planning in here or start another thread?

I'd like to shoot for min 5 people. Doesn't even have to be computers either, we could do xbox (or any gaming system).

    Re: LAN Games Here

Ok, I have been working with AA trying ot get a lan party set up in bellingham washingtion.

Now the poroblem is that AA or our US army will bring out all the fixes provide all the equipment and Have prizes to win..... Yet I am trying to see how big of a turn out there will be for the lan party.

So if you are interested let me know I will contact the local recruitment srgt and find out what type of prizes can be run. and what the requirements will be.

Reason for requirements and how many people would be interested is they spend thousands of dollars bringing out the trucks and setting up for the lan event, and if only 5 or 6 people are interested then there really aint no use bringing that out...

Also been thinking about putting on lan turnements in bellingham wondering if any one is interested

    Let me know

    Re: LAN Games Here

Put me down for Philadelphia, PA area. Add me to xfire if you feel like playing somthing: eckse90

I could possibly host a small LAN if a few people have laptops as I only have 2 spare CRTs. Where to host it is the hard part.
