TV won't output sound to receiver

I have a Coby flat panel tv and it outputs sound to my receiver  when in hdmi mode but when i have it in regular cable mode (no cable box, simply a coaxial) no sound is emitted from my receiver. Can anyone help me with this?

The sound output cords are RCA (red &white)

There should be a setting in the TV menu that lets you output sound from RCA.

On my Panasonic plasma it's like this, since sound is integrated into HDMI and coaxial by default. So you have to tell it to output to RCA, since usually it just sends sound out through the same cable as the video.

Yeah, you'll likely have to switch back and fourth.

    I happily buy tech! Why wouldn't I?
