    Application Security Is National Security

    informationweek:

Hacks targeting U.S. government computers are coming from China. We knew that. The Chinese hackers are relying on zero-day software vulnerabilities to exploit critical systems. So, tell me again: why aren't we doing more to require applications be built secure from the start?

yea..why aren't we? it's time part of the risk for developing insecure software shifts onto software developers. End users have businesses have been shouldering the risk, and the cost, for far too long.

What's your take? (see the whole resource)

Great find and articles on this, but the author is pointing more towards China, when in fact they are only a small group to be concerned about. He needs to look at the other countries as well that have well known hackers to access said systems as well. Not just China, look at Japan, Russia, Norway, Germany, India, Vietnam, Philippines, this list can go on forever. Exploits are really nothing new, Bots have been around since ARPANET, All the end-user can really do is patch the system vulnerabilities from the manufacture that it. Other than that they are all sitting ducks.

I guess this is the future. Cyber warfare?

I just find it very amusing that the finger always gets pointed to China.

Lol, it's always China because that gets ratings.
