So, my desktop isn't that great

(e-machine w3611)

But i wan't to replace the video card for some moderate gaming
(i.e., Torchlight, League of Legends, maybe Dynasty Warriors 6)

I want these games to run above average, and i have a budget of $150 at most.

What do you guys recommend i get? (Bbtw, do pci express 16 2.0 cards work with pic express 16 1.0 motherboards?) 

Yes they do Pci-e 2.0 is backwards compatible with pci-e 1.0/16x. How big is the power supply in that machine? Thats the first thing you need to look at when thinking about a graphics card. You more then likely will need a pci-e connector on the power supply to run a decent card not a great card but a decent one.

Open it up and look on it. It should say

This GT 220 probably would work fine for you gets its power from the bus so need to hook it up to the power supply

I would say with your budget go for a 5700 series, preferably the 5750 it performs real well however it may require you to buy an molex to pci-ex adapter.  This suggestion is for the highend of your budget but for a lower end try the 4670 or the 4770.  I am only giving  ati solutions because I'd assume your pc is for all around use and since ati's cards offer audio support this is one of my main reason for supporting them... I am not biased but I just had to retire my 8800gt because the pc it was in I was going to turn it into a htpc.

Can you guys suggest a card that doesn't require some kind of adapter?
You know, just i open case, stick it in, and install drivers?

Dude ignore springs post as he doesn't see the whole picture. Look at my post above where I link the GTS 220 and that card will be fine for you. It seems your tech knowledge is real low and trying to go with anything more would just be more of a challenge to you. Plus you pc is pretty much out dated and really not worth spending a whole lot of money on.

Alright thanks, but just two more questions involving this card

1. I'd rather get a 1gb version, if available. That shouldn't be a problem, right?

2. Hook it up to the power supply? Its not too complicated is it XD?
