epik,
To my knowledge, Acer doesn't offer anything other than TN based monitors. The listed viewing angles are high for TN's, but my guess is that they found a way to legal advirtize it.
Allen750,
The only real difference between monitors are the features and panel types. There are three main categories of panels: TN, PVA, and IPS. TN panels are the cheapest to produce and offer excellent response times, but lack somewhat in color accuracy and especially in viewing angles. PVA panels usually have slightly lower response times than TN, but they excel in color and viewing angles. Of course they also cost more than TN panels. IPS panels offer the best of both worlds at the expense of, well, cost. The PVA and IPS panels are considered better than TN.
Now with that, I think this is a TN panel because of cost and brand. Therefore, the only thing that would make it any better than other monitors of the same size and resolution is that is it cheaper.
