That looks like a very, very nice laptop.  The only negative I can see with it is the lack of  BluRay drive, but that's just me.

Out of curiosity, why do you need that much power? 

A fairly good notebook and yup Blu-ray is something we need to take into consideration. For any Intel C2D notebooks it will be okay but for a brand new core i7 lappy, it should have one.

well i use a netbook now and its slow when i convert dvd files and I had a amd turiun x2 before and that was c**p so i here the core i7 are the best and there good for multitasking. The blu ray is not important cause i have 2 at home and i can't watch movies on small screens. But i am worried on the 1.6ghz on the i7 it seems slow

i7 architecture is different than C2D and the AMD you had. It will work much faster than a C2D at 1.6ghz.
