Hello all. Recenetly whenever i hit the power button to start my computer, even if im waking it from hibernate, it will startup and shut down, usually two times and then work correctly the third. I have heard alot about a PSU being the blame but i just got a Xigmatek 750 watt modular power supply, and the one before it did the same thing. But the most strange thing about it is that sometimes it will do it and sometimes it wont, and a long time ago i was having this problem then it went away and about a week or two ago it came back! Im so confused about this. please help!

Just to recheck the cables, RAM etc or maybe to clean the dust. one RAM per time or Memtest

Probably hardware issue but I will stick check out Windows event log.

Alright. The event log doesnt say anything happened the time this occurred, it says something about Kernel power but its not at the right time for the event. So do you think i should just try going through my computer again and just take out and put back in everything just to make sure its all seated correctly and so forth?

Did you make sure the power switch isn't sticky / dirty? if it is it may be giving it a shut down signal.

 

Yeah, the switch is alright. I redid my computer and it started up first time from hibernate, well have to see how long that lasts. I just wish i could put my computer into sleep and have it wake up

 your computer sounds like it has a error during POST ( power on self test)

  check all your components for proper connectivity

  blow out the inside with can of air...build up in components , especially memory ..can be a real nuisance !

 check all your drivers , don't use the check driver update easy button, physically visit each website to the hardware and D.L. each individaul driver update

clean out all your cookies

  these easy steps can narrow down any start -up problems ( and everything else)
