    Question about DIY animated wallpaper

I found some websites that offer free animated wallpaper.  I don't know if it actually works or not because it doesn't work on Vista.  But... if it DOES work, is it easy to create my own?

In other words, I would like to take video of a waterfall, a fireplace, clouds moving across the sky, etc, and turn that into my wallpaper (or even screensaver if need be).

Is that possible?  Has anyone here done it?  What does it take to do it?

    Thank you for the help!

    -Frank

Re: Question about DIY animated wallpaper

Not easy but not that hard either, all you need is a cam corder and video editing software compatable with your Vista OS and the cam corder type recording parameters then you film your subject transfer it to the computer and open the video editting software then edit it and set for loop play and then go into your desktop wallpaper and choose that file as your wallpaper. It works on W7 can not say about Vista.

Re: Question about DIY animated wallpaper

Thank you for the reply.  I guess I need some decent video editing software.

If anyone has done this on Vista, what kind of video editing software do you use?  Is it user friendly, or is there a pretty steep learning curve?

    Thanks again!
