Windows 7... explorer.exe stopped working?!

    Windows 7... explorer.exe stopped working?!

    Hello, I am using Windows 7 and I have the problem with explorer.exe stops working and it restarts and it keeps doing that every time I try to cut and paste and sometimes even when I open a new folder.

    I did the steps that they provided in this link: http://www.blogsdna.com/2137/fix-windows-installer-explorer-update-has-stopped-working-in-windows-7.htm yet the problem still exists!!!

     

    Does anyone know another way to fix this?

    Try disabling your antivirus / antimalware programs to see if it helps.

    How much RAM is the system using?

    Does the CPU ever idle? (0% usage)

    Currently it is using 1.22GB.

    No, I haven't seen it go down to 0% usage before.

    If you open task manager and click on the Processes tab, how much of the CPU is the Explorer.exe and Svchost processes using? do they ever idle?

    are any processes "always" running?

    explorer.exe uses about 20,000K when the computer been on for about 30 minutes.

    There are a lot of svchost.exe. From just added that up in my head about 165,000K is being used by all of them.

    Thats the ram usage. Click view when you in the processes tab, and select "select columns...." then check the box for CPU usage.

    I always forget they don't select it by default....

    Oh sorry.

    explorer.exe is 02 right now.

    System Idle is at 86.
