    Technical Assistance

I was sent to this site by newegg and all I got was a bunch of off color comments in the chat section.  All I want to do is buy some memory from you so I can improve the speed of my computer (256MB Ram).  Your chat room is full of people who trade filthy language at nearly the speed of light.  Sure no place for a computer illiterate like me. Is there someone who could help me without all the bad language?

PS I own a 5 year old Dell Dimension 4400 Pentium 4 processor at 1.8 gig. 256MB Ram FFT SDRAM Two memory connectors (I don't know how many pins) .  Computer is able to handle 1 gig of RAM  Memory type is DDR (nonECC)  all this is from the manual

Sorry about you chat room experience. Just know that most of us forum members and chat room users are not newegg employees so try not to think badly of the egg for it.

Any ddr should work for you according to dells spec page. Any set on this page should work fine http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010170147%201052107965%201052407862%201052308476&name=1GB%20%282%20x%20512MB%29&ActiveSearchResult=True Yes

Aren't there rules in Chatroom? That is so bad and Chat room is still a long way to go and needs improvements in the future and that is why I seldom go into chatroom.

That's terrible. Use the forums, much better.

    I happily buy tech! Why wouldn't I?

    Re: Technical Assistance

I wholeheartedly agree with the gents comments about the chat room-no help, just ridicule and ridiculous comments.I love Newegg, but perhaps a chatroom specifically for tech assistance is needed. If the forums and chat are the only way to get tech assistance from the egg,it seems something quick and focused would help both the potential customers and Newegg.I know they are'nt hurting for business, but, why take the chance of alienating lifelong customers because of lack of  comprehensive tech assistance. Please guys dont mistake this for an attack on the Forum and the fine folks on it,you've all been very helpful to me.It's just when a person is finally ready to pull the trigger on a build and have  the combos,promos,and24 hr deals all lined up(like a once in a hundred year celestial event-haha)and they need to ask a question just for peace of mind before dropping $2500,It would be nice to have a source for accurate, timely info.Again thank all of you guys in the forum for the help in the past, but we gotta do something about that chatroom!!
