    OS X Data Recovery

    Hi All -

It's been a while. How is everyone?

About a year ago, I came across some freeware OS X data recovery software - recover damaged files, deleted files, etc. I remember that it worked, and it was free.

My friend's mac just exploded... anyone have any idea what would work that doesn't cost a billion dollars?

    Re: OS X Data Recovery

If you're got another mac sitting around, connect them together with a firewire cable and try Target Disk Mode (boot the crashed one while holding Cmd+T).

Might also try removing the crashed drive and putting it in a PC, http://www.ufsexplorer.com/download_stdr.php (39-eur)

    Best of Luck
