    Thermal paste testing on [H]Enthusiast

[ H ]Enthusiast did a test of some of the top thermal pastes on the market and these are the results

    Thermal Paste Testing

Seems that there is some better stuff out there then the old standard AS5. I used the MX2 stuff and was very pleased with it. Kept my temp pretty low.

Can't go wrong with AS5, but if you need that extra 1 or 2 degrees C, then the alternatives are worth considering.

    RAWR!

I've used Tuniq, zerotherm, Antec and now artic silver freakn 5. Tuniq is the best IMO. AS5 is not the stuff it's hyped up to be, just people who have never tried anything else. Oh, my bad, Tuniq was'nt even mentioned! DOH!

An even bigger test. http://benchmarkreviews.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=150&Itemid=62  I still like my combo of OCZ Freeze and generic paste.

Re: Thermal paste testing on [H]Enthusiast

    Quote from article:

"If you're wondering why we didn't use a higher output fan it's because we want there to be more pressure on the thermal paste to conduct the heat away and give us a bigger delta between pastes. A super high-output fan would minimize the differences between pastes."

This is wrong. Since the amount of heat the CPU generates does not depend on the fan blowing on it, the heat flowing through the paste doesn't either. Whatever. It is a test of some kind.

Re: Thermal paste testing on [H]Enthusiast

Sounds dumb but i made my own thermal past. I used Car coolant and a bonding agent to make it into a paste. Keeps my air cooling idle at 15c and at highs 30c
