    Directv H21 reciever

    I am thinking about buying the H21 reciever but I'm uncertain about the Directv leasing fee. If I buy this from Newegg, will Directv still charge me the lease fee? And what about the card? Directv wanted to charge me $316.00 for this item.

    Usually if you pay a large amount upfront for the equipment, then you are buying it. If it's a fee per month, then you're leasing it.
    I happily buy tech! Why wouldn't I?

    Except with Direct TV, you never actually own their equipment according to them. Went to Best Buy and bought the HD DVR. Came home and activated it and they informed me that there is still a rental few and that I have to send them the receiver when I cancel...

     I was going to go return the unit and go to DISH but they are the same....
