I tryed to install BF2 on my computer.But whenever I start BF2 up, the screen turns different shades of black for a few seconds,then my computer shuts down. When I turn it back on it says "your computer has recovered from a serious error".My computer should be able to run this game really well,3Ghz CPU,Radeon 4870. Eventually somebody told me I needed the 1.5 patch for BF2,unfortunitly the computer I have BF2 on isnt connected to the internet.I tryed to download the patch to this computers desktop,and then burn that to a disc.For some reason though,whenever I put the disc into the computer with BF2 on it,the shortcut wont work.I can click it and stuff,but an installer window wont show up. How do I get the patch on there?Do i need to install another patch?If anybody has any idea about what I can do to fix this,please let me know.

What O/S are you using ?  what patch level are you at ?   1.5 is the latest...

I have 32 bit Windows XP professenial. Would you be able to tell me which other patches I would need to install? I havent installed any patches.

You need to update to  Direct X 9c - latest version,   

Download 1.5 patch  it is very large

and also update your vid card drivers probably as well
