    stuck screw in laptop case

I have a laptop which has one screw that will not come out preventing me from removing the bottom case. Although it is pretty close to it, the screw head is not yet stripped. It turns and turns in both directions forever. It is screwed into the metal frame of the bottom case, not a nut on the other side. I have tried plain brute force and I stuck a little screwdriver into the case attempting to pry it open as I turned the screw in both directions.

Sorry to hear you have a stuck screw, but is there a question in there somewhere?

Or are you just warning us? lol.

Umm, yeaah... How does one go about removing a screw in this situation?

Re: stuck screw in laptop case

This may sound a bit unconventional and assuming that it is a recessed screw, I would get the proper sized screwdriver and glue it to the screw using either epoxy or Gorilla glue. Use just enough for the screw slot(s) and not enough to spill over and glue in the screw to the case. Hopefully, you will achieve enough grip to gently remove the screw.

Another possibility is to use a sharpened, flat blade jeweler's screwdriver to insert between the screw and the case so that you may pry upward as you remove the screw. Otherwise, you are screwed. (Sorry, I couldn't resist.)
