    I am uber nerd!

Well this section got dead quick so I am gonna post why I am officially an uber nerd...

I love Anime, been watching anime since I was 8, which was about 16 years ago... (god I feel old). To this day I still watch anime weekly, with my favorite being Naruto and Full Metal Alchemist this time around.

Because of my love for Anime, I am currently taking Japanese as my college language (second year of college because I went into the Army after high school).

I took Japanese simply because of Anime..

Hello... my name is Kocrachon... and im an Anime-holic.

    Re: I am uber nerd!

Fell in love with anime back in the late 70's early 80's when I would run home from grade school to see Star Blazers on TV.  Now I have around 300 DVDs of anime and a bunch of kawai figures and other otaku loot.  ^_^

heh, I cant translate everything you said, Im in my first 2 weeks of Japanese and I have only learned hirigana, and it looks like you have some katakana or kanji in that writing :P so I cant read it.

My favorite anime right now are Naruto (im a narutard but it IS a good anime) Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood (better than the first FMA) and I also love the Original Mobile Suit Gundam!

    Re: I am uber nerd!

Well all anime I watch I watch sub titled, never dubbed, and that has helped me with the language itself a lot. The hardest part is learning Kanji -_-..

The language I have picked up really quick, I know a lot of the slang to the real phrases I have bene taught thanks to Anime :P

I'm a huge anime fan. Most of the time I watch subbed. Only dubs I watched were Cowboy Bebop, Trigun and maybe a couple others.

    I happily buy tech! Why wouldn't I?

    Re: I am uber nerd!

Subbed Sailor Moon is a classic, and it's actually pretty good.. I'm quite surprised how much I like it..  Certainly the watered down American dub where they cut the naughty parts out for American Television ruined it so bad that most people don't want to get near it..  They took a show that was aimed at middle schoolers and turned it into a show that was made for little girls ages 6 and up and they replaced all the voice actresses with old women...  So sad...  There's still an active community that supports Sailor Moon subbing and they went through and did subbing for all the musicals..   Now that Miyuki Kanbe is dead, I feel bad about not giving the musicals more attention..

But generally I stick to subbed Ah/Oh my goddess...  Flights of fancy was amazing.

@Sid, every time I read or heard about, Oh my goddess, I think of you.

@Everyone, I'm not longer concerned to be call geek, nerd or otaku. Indeed, I'm a otaku, I prefer to stay home watching anime than going clubbing with my friends.

Thanks God, they finally understood, tho' they still try to drag me out from time to time.

    Re: I am uber nerd!

I got my fiancee to recognize the same thing. Just last friday we went out with a few of her friends to a bar because they are all 22 ish and college graduates and its the "thing to do".

Well we leave the bar afterwards and we were so annoyed at how loud the bar was, you couldn't talk with out yelling, and a bunch of drunk guys around the bar just kept on hitting on the girls in the group. We decided we will just watch anime is stead, not as agitating and you can do it in your underwear!
