Is there a cheap notebook  that will run games decently?

I'm good at using computers, but I'm pretty bad when it comes to actually understanding what to buy.

(yes, I know, it's embarrassing)

I was told the ASUS K50AB which was at about $640.00 is good(link below), but newegg sent me the K50IN which had busted speakers instead. After I sent them the K50IN back, but instead of replacing the right item, they sent my money back and then the K50AB is now out of stock...

Can someone recommend me a computer that is good as this?

My dad wants me to buy the  Toshiba Satelite Pro L300-EZ1524, is this good?

See, the thing is, playing games on a laptop usually sucks because of the battery life,

con of Asus: amd processor and not really do well

Con of Toshiba: poor HD 4500 IGP, maybe Intel GMA 4500 can do well in HD playback but not well in gaming.

To play game well, at least you will need a dedicated video card.

Yeah, you shouldn't focus on gaming on a laptop unless you want one of the $200+ laptops that are more hassle then they're worth honestly.

For me, mobility is king in laptops, so my new favorite is netbooks. They're powerful enough to do just about anything excpet heavy photo/video editing, gaming, and hd video, but for everything else, like surfing, YouTube, email, MS office, etc, they're great.
