VCR/DVD Combo Units

I'm looking to purchase a VCR/DVD recorder all in one unit to transfer old VHS tapes to DVD. Any suggestions and is the quality as good as the original. I want to copy the tapes to DVD and then edit them on a computer. Any thoughts...

I have heard very good things about Panasonic's line of DVD recorders.

I'd look at them.

My Magnavoxworks great and has for three years. Bought at Wally World.
