OC'ing an i5: Resets my settings upon reboot.

    Hey guys,

So basically I have been dabbling in OC'ing and I have gotten some good progress. I have my Intel Core i5 @ 3.2ghz Stable (ran prime 95 for a few hours). The only problem is that when I reboot, it basically resets my settings back to stock. I am on a Gigabyte P55 UD3R. Anyone know why this is happening? Google didn't seem to have any answers.

     Thanks,

    Adam

See if there's a profile settng in the OC section, there usually is. MAybe it'll take hold if you set a profile.

let me ask you something say if you restart dose it keep the overclock or dose it  restart again with  default clocks  -if this is the case it means your OC isn't stable and it is setting your OC back to stock untill you get it stable and once you have it stable it won't do that ..

My  gigabyte P45 board did that when i had unstable oc's  -but the good news is you won't have to re-input all your values in the bios as once you re-enter the bios all the values will be where you left them .  My advice  add voltage seems like it isn't stable somewhere but apart from that i don't have enough info to advise you any further.

Make sure you didn't leave a jumper on the CLR_CMOS pins..  That would explain the settings being reset every shutdown.

    Onboard RAID vs. 3Ware RAID

I never recommend people run RAID-5 with onboard chipsets.
