GmsCool:Open the device manager from controll panel /
administrative tools. uninstall the drive, reboot, it should pick it
right up.
Ok i did everything you stated above and everything did
go as you intended. i uninstalled and when i re logged the pc did in
fact recognized the optical drive. Only problem is that the drive
still does not realize there is a cd (music, movie or program) or dvd
inside of it. Like if i open My Computer and click on my optical
drives icon, there is nothing extra there when it should have a new
icon for whatever the cd/dvd is.
So that leads me to this.... is my drive dead? do i need to buy a new optical drive? if so, what should i get?
