Hi, I just bought a new cpu fan/heatsink for my pc, I've had the stock one for too long and I want to try to overclock. I have a intel core 2 q8300 (2.5ghz) and I just bought this cooler for it: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835150082

I was wondering if someone can tell me what would be the best way to start overclocking, things like how much I should increase the multipliers each step, and how to test for stability and general things like that.

Not a mission impossible but to make sure to increase the frequency little by little.

you can't overclock 4 dimms very well, so forget memory overclocking, and you have a CPUwith a locked multiplier (can't go faster than stock, but you can slow it down).

So your only easy choice is to up FSB by 4-12 mhz at a time in BIOS then reboot to OS and do stability tests (like 3Dmark or PCMark)

BSOD's mean you should check for CPU overtemp issues.
