xpPhone: Smartphone that Runs Windows XP

Have any smartphone truly catched your eyes in the past two years? If not, this one probably will. xpPhone, a device that was oh so briefly demoed at Computex. ITG's smartphone looks like a lot of work. Far from your average Windows phone, it has a QWERTY keyboard and then some. ( see detailed info here)

    I bet your interested, right?Wink

    This is pretty cool BUT...

    1. A phone this big can hardly be called 'mobile' - you can't fit it into a pocket.

    2. It can't play Crysis

I think I will stick to Symbian, Win mobile or other OS since I could do all the needed tasks on those platforms, and the most important is there is no BSOD and they are faster.

Re: xpPhone: Smartphone that Runs Windows XP

If it can run Windows XP then it can also run Windows 7 well so you can call it 7phone and if it adds another 1GB RAM, maybe VistaPhone. But like you guys said, it does not matter what OS you can run on it , what you can do for us matters. a better UI with wealth of useful features, WinM,Symbian, Andriod will fit the bill.

just as a frame of reference, this is the HTC Leo next to the HTC Touch Pro2:

Keep in mind that the Touch Pro2 is NOT a small phone.  The Leo (on the left) has a 4.3" diagonal screen.  That's a half inch smaller than the xpPhone.  Now look at all the area around the screen of the xpPhone ... that more like the size of a UMPC.

Touch Pro2 is pretty big compared to other phones.

HTC Leo actually looks very nice, not too sure about a phone that runs Windows XP... there is already Windows Mobile...

As a person stated, just going to stick with Symbian, will give Maemo a try when it comes out however but really doubt that it will make me give up Symbian.
