The Intel Mainstream SSD's are being grossly overpriced,

Have been inflated $120.00 overnight

MSRP = $235.00

Capitalism at work.

Sites that show MSRP seem to be backordered/out of stock.

So, to wit:

Sites get stock.

Sites sell out of stock at MSRP.

Newegg, still retaining stock, ups price for item as much as the market (buying public) will bear for what is now a COMMODITY ITEM.

I think I see similiar (even higher) pricing from sites that still have the item in stock.

Hmm, didn't I learn this in high school economics 101?

On the other hand: Pricing like this never lasts beyond the "hype" period of a new product's release. So if you chill the hell out, and wait patiently like a good little supposedly-experienced-customer, the prices come down to "sane" levels soon enough.

The Iron Law Of Tech Toys: The longer you wait, the more money you save up, while the cheaper the stuff gets (as new stuff is released).

I had absolutely NO IDEA that Intel G2 SSD's are

1) An ESSENTIAL good or service (like water, gasoline, food, etc...)

2) That we are in a time of CIVIL EMERGENCY where possession and usage of a Intel G2 SSD was ESSENTIAL to the preservation of public order.

So when can I call MrFox out on these issues and tell him to take his head out of his rear end? Oh man, I'm about to cross some abusive language limits I'm sure, but maybe its because MrFox made some SERIOUS THREATS against Newegg (lets report them to the California Attorney General!!!!) that to me are beyond outrageous and borderline slanderous. Come on man, these are high end electronic luxury items.

Enjoy your long, inevitably pointless wait for a response from a state agency that already has enough on their plate with existing fraud, and funding cutbacks, to deal with your near-pointless complaints.

As usual MrFox goes for the dramatic and makes a mountain out of a mole hill.

As was stated this is supply and demand in the works. I watched the price of the E8400 cpus go up 50-70 dollars over a few week period and then they settled down at a 220 price point and I bought.

People are going to wait out the rise and fall of the product.

Your claim and complaint of price gouging is unfounded, pure and simple. Feel free to file it and watch it get dismissed just as quick, all you will have done is wasted your time. If you don't like the price, don't buy the item. It truly is that simple. NewEgg is a company that can charge whatever they like, and they are.

 Personally, I doubt it will be taken any further than this forum. But I'm not one to antagonize, at least not un-purpose.

Anyone can get MSRP from Intel 3-6 months before the release of the product, it's known as google. But since MSRP doesn't mean anything, that's pointless to note anyways. I had MSRP of the SSD from Intel around 5 months before they were released. It's easy to acquire their press statements or future plans, who cares anyways since MSRP doesn't mean anything. MSRP from Intel is a standard product key based pricing system, anyone can guess what and how much their products are, but that doesn't even come close to representing real world market demand or production yields.

Problem solved. You're entitled to your own opinion, but you can't just simply come onto their own forums spouting senseless spam.

This is honestly a worthless, unnecessary thread made by someone who claims utter BS. You could technically receive a lawsuit from Newegg if you want to file a complaint or go to California's Attorney General, last I checked when reading up on defamation and public slandering.

Just like anybody else, you should be free to say as a customer how this type of practices may affect the image of NewEgg to their costomers. Sorry to be blunt, but mistakes are made.

First of all. Everything I said in my post is true, you have no basis for any of your accusations (I'll prove this later one), none of those are considered facts relative to your accusations at hand (also proven later on), MSRP does not "prove" nor provide a given pricing structure required to be used by any reseller  in any way (proven in my previous post), and secondly, sorry to be blunt, your arguing something without apparently even having read my post, otherwise you would've known your accusations and so called "facts" do not even have any logical basis or reasoning. That honestly is just simply rude.

Secondly, you're trying to argue with a mod (And CAGG and everyone else here) without having any intelligent or relevant points or information. Go back and look at those HDD's pricing. Both of them are at $350. Not anywhere close to the "Price Gouged Beyond TWO Times its MSRP $245.00", so what type of personal opinion are you trying to state, hmm?

And before you say "Newegg reduced the price giaz!" It was already at $350 for both SSD's at the time of your FIRST POST. $350 is perfectly reasonable seeing as how nearly every other company is currently selling them for at least $295, and the immediate lack of units and production yields. So you don't even have any "facts" to back your personal opinions up, it only looks like your argument has any substance to you and you only. There is no reason why this thread should not be locked when you're spreading half-thought out opinions which can easily misconstrue or turn into a flame war of stupidity. You're just making a big deal out of something which is general business practice due to supply and demand.

You should be happy to know, however, that Newegg is looking into this. Great job and wasting their precious time.

Its relatively common from what I have seen to see the prices of the hot ticket items to fluctuate by the hour.
