media hub or tower?

    media hub or tower?

I am planning on moving  into a new apartment in the next week or so.  I plan on buying a large LCD T.V. and home theater system.  Presently I live in a very small apartment and watch movies and listen to music on my Dell 17" laptop.  I have over 400 GB of music and movies stored between my laptop and external hard drive.  I want to be able to use a wireless system in the new apartment to back up my 2 laptops and to listen to music throughout the apartment and on additional music systems.  The system would also need a player for the CD/DVD so I could watch rentals also.  I will also want to be able to use the LCD as a screen/monitor on those lazy days for my laptop at times, use the LCD for other computer functions and also download music and movies to watch later.  I am not worried about games but do want quality video and music.

That all being said, what would serve me better, the media hub such as the linksys systems or a tower?  Any other suggestions?  Any suggestions on hardware?

    Thanks,

    Jay

I'd go with a tower, It doesn't have to be powerful, just hold the drive space you need, and you can upgrade anytime.
