    worst online shopping experience ever!!!

i live in sydney australia, have been shopping from us online store for almost 3 years, J&R amazon and recently newegg

I have a newegg account about 1 year ago, but back to that time, they didnt support paypal, i used to make an order by using credit card and failed seruity check because my billing address is australia but postal address is in usa(i am my own mail forward service , they will send everything i brought from us to australia ). that's fair enough and i just walk away.

recently i checked back on  newegg and found they support paypal , so i decided to try (many us online retailer support paypal but only accept payment from us paypal account eg buy.com )

what a surprise! new egg doesnt have that restriction, so i paid from my australia paypal account and they post to my us address within 4 days.

soon i made the second order and everyhing seems fine order  been posted quickly

2 days later i made the third order and they cancel the order and sent me an email, i have asked the reason and asked for a refund, they said i can reorder in the furture and refuded quickly however they didnt tell me the reason

but today my account has been blocked and when i tracked my second order , they called it back.

i tried use livechat with customers service, they told me because my ip address shown international so they cant sell item to me which i think it's far from true.

i have been searched newegg policy they do have 2 rules about international policy

1 they do not post to overseas which i am not

2they dont support international credit card which i use paypal(echeck account not credit card account)

amazon used to check my account and sent me the link how to restore my account, after i faxed my bank details to them, everything works great

i do understand every website have the right not to post to overseas or seruity check but refuse to provide serviec just depending on ip address seems so unfair

if they dont want to sell item to foreigners, whey they dont blcok foreign paypak account as buy.com does so the money wont took out from my pocket and i can just walk away.

it's not about if i can buy from them anymore, they should treat me with a little respect like a customer instead of a criminal (called the parcel back from ups which is ready to be delivered today)

I'm confused....I could have sworn there was a big ocean between the US and Australia.

But seriously, you got lucky the first time when you got your stuff.  This time the saw your IP was in another country....you got blocked.  That's one of Newegg's many security features.  Nothing you can do about it.

    Does Newegg.com ship internationally?

Newegg.com does not currently ship internationally; we only deliver to locations within the United States and to Puerto Rico.

    Hmm

Re: worst online shopping experience ever!!!

So you mean your first order with Newegg was a sucess, but the other two were stuck for your International IP address? Then I am confused too...Confused Did you fill in different account info when placing the second and the third orders? Well, for international orders, it does mean that your IP address should be within The United States. In this case, I suggest you PM DoM_DoM or Wyldstallyn to have them look into this pro. They are egg staffs here and would be happy to help you out.

I know that...so I am confused why his first order could go through, but the second and the third were stuck. I doubt he input different info when placing those two orders.

Re: worst online shopping experience ever!!!

More than likely it accidentally went through, maybe due to a glitch or something...user got lucky.  Second time, Newegg's system caught it and denied it.  Just to be clear though, Newegg.com does not ship to anyone with an IP address outside of the United States.

Re: worst online shopping experience ever!!!

If it's any consolation, their shipping to New Jersey might as well be to New Zealand.  I ordered a couple of small items that were advertised with free shipping.  I live in southern New Jersey near Philadelphia, PA.  Here's the shipping details before it went into the US Post Office black hole.

    Date Time Location Details
8/10/2009 2:54 AM ET ELKRIDGE, MD, US TENDERED TO USPS
8/10/2009 1:33 AM ET ELKRIDGE, MD, US ARRIVAL DESTINATION DHL GLOBAL MAIL FACILITY
8/7/2009 2:09 AM ET RUTHERFORD, NJ, US DEPARTURE ORIGIN DHL GLOBAL MAIL FACILITY
8/6/2009 11:12 PM ET RUTHERFORD, NJ, US PROCESSED
8/6/2009 10:00 PM ET RUTHERFORD, NJ, US ARRIVAL ORIGIN DHL GLOBAL MAIL FACILITY
8/5/2009 6:16 PM ET EDISON, NJ, US PICK UP
Sales Order Date:      8/5/2009 12:24:38 PM

By comparison, I've used Staples website many times for ordering electronic items, always got free shipping and ALWAYS received the item the next business day.  Several times I ordered items after 4PM and still received it in my Philadelphia office by 1PM the NEXT DAY.

Re: worst online shopping experience ever!!!

@ sivart7555- No.  The three things together: US IP address, US shipping address and credit card in the US all help keep down on fraud. Yes

@ firemark- What exactly does this have to do with the original post?
