    MP3 to GPS cable?

Howdy Everyone!! New to the site. I was referred here by some one on my motorcycle forum. Tell y'all the truth, tech stuff is not my bag. I don't even know how a TV works, what with all the signals being scrambled in the atmosphere and then reassembled in the box...Any way, I hope y'all can help me. I am looking for a cable. My motorcycle is wired for sound. I have a male end that inserts into an MP3 player or a personal radio. I was given a Garmin Nuvi and I would love to use the existing wire to run the GPS. I need a converter (?) wire with a female end on one side and the male end on the other side that would plug into the GPS. I have looked on the internet and ebay and truth be told, I really don't even know what I'm looking for other than a converter cable. Can anyone out there help me out? Thanks so much.

I show that most of Garmin used a mini B port, which is same interface with your MP3. So I don't think you need a converter.

If I am wrong, could you please give pics for both of your Garmin and cable so that we could check it for you?

    Re: MP3 to GPS cable?

You can't plug your MP3 Player (ie: iPod)  into your GPS..

The headphone jack on the GPS is for audio output only..

The headphone jack on MP3 players is for audio output only.

Maybe I am misunderstanding your question...?

You can plug your GPS into your motorcycle, or you can plug your iPod into your motorcycle..   Or you can get a "Y" adapter and plug both the iPod and GPS into your motorcycle.. But you can't plug the GPS into the MP3 Player.

    Onboard RAID vs. 3Ware RAID

I never recommend people run RAID-5 with onboard chipsets.

That would depend on the model of the Garmin Nuvi the 800 series like the 855i will do this. I have a old 805i and the way to play MP3's at all only would be the microSD cards up to 4GB. But will not work with MP3 players at all.
