Re: Project Panzerbox: A Tribute to Wolfenstein

Nate started the system install Sunday afternoon. The Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme Revision A HSF clears the chassis.

250mm fan draws out the warm air from the Ultra 120 Extreme Revision A

Thermalright has since updated the mounting bracket to turn the HSF 90 degrees and avoid blocking DDR in first two slots

We'll be using these new PC Cable management clamps http://www.mnpctech.com/CableClamp.html

We'll be painting the 5.1 surround sound headset we received from Psyko Audio with matching camo

Re: Project Panzerbox: A Tribute to Wolfenstein

The dissection of a Psyko Audio Headset, before prepped for Camo paint

The padded ear cup pads can be popped off with their pivoting bases (grab around the top of the plastic ring and pull it out).

4 screws total, 2 on each side fasten on outter Silver trim piece

4, screw locations to be removed.

The clear cup cover is easily removed, once the outter trim piece is removed.

The clear cover pops off (push a small flat head screw driver into the gaps to pry off).

The pads are peeled off. I used a small flat head screw driver to pry up the edge first.

You can peel off the top 5 pads to reveal 5 screws holding on the top Silver cover.

5x 30mm diam. 32 ohm. speakers project sound into your skull

Re: Project Panzerbox: A Tribute to Wolfenstein

After the pads are removed, the headset is re-assembled before being masked off before camo paint job. It's easier to apply the camo stencils when it's all assembled without the pads

For tidying up the PSU cables, I'm using the small size PC Cable Clamps, they hold approximately 1" bundle

Lots of things have happened between updating this project, first off, a big Congrats to Nate! (CustomPCMax) the happy father of twins, a boy and girl!

I'm picking up the camouflage Psyko Audio headset from Brad today. Yippee!

Next up for the german wwII camo paint, this 15" HD/TV LCD, small, but it's all I have available.. Hey, add a handle and it's a nice mate to our panzerbox. I'll have to look into the handle option.

I added fake bullet holes to the window today..lol Using 3/8 drill bit. To create spiderweb cracks, I etched the surface of the window with a Dremel and these engraving bits

Nate and I talked about going to some midwest lan events, Glad you liked them!

I heard back from James at PsykoAudio, he suggested turning off the cmss settings in the X-fi software, and turn on EAX. I will check into these setting later today.
