Unless I am sadly mistaken, you may have to add (QC) Quebec in Canada to that list.  Quebec lottery rules are weird and most national contests in Canada exclude QC.  The Quebec Lottery Board has a long set of rules most companies do not care to put up with.  If the EGGHEAD has done the paperwork, then congrats as you are one of the few that bothered.

I got the "you entered to soon" email also. Now I cannot re-enter at all, keeps telling me my phone number/birthdate is either "empty or invalid".

 I just started trying to enter today, so of course I didn't get that e-mail, but I do keep getting the message saying my phone number and birthdate are "empty or invalid". They look just fine to me. I've tried multiple browsers, made sure cookies were on, tried when signed in to eggxpert and when not, it doesn't seem to make a difference. I am trying to enter on the Canadian entry page, is this happening on the US page too?

That means my chances to win went down by 2 chances as I did not get that email until I got home.  I am pretty sure I would have won on the 1st or the 2nd.  

Why announce the contest (which doing so here was pretty much a guarantee that once it was posted those that saw it and it's link would go sign up) ahead of time if the entries done from the said announcement were worthless entries requring a reentry (plus guaranteeing at least one day of the contest would be missed and most likely 2 days).

Same error on mine, telephone and birthdate.  Tried on my work computer, home computer, IE6, IE7, firefox on both.  Contacted their chat support and he told me it was my side, I told him I was pretty much 100% sure this is an issue on their side and he denied it.

The Canadian entry page issue that results in an error message stating that your phone number/birthdate fields are "empty or invalid" has been forwarded to our programmers and is being investigated. Thank you very much to those who informed us about this problem!

The issue does seem to be sporadic, so trying again at a later time might result in a successful entry. We'll post further information as soon as it is available!

Why's it void in Rhode Island, New York, and Florida?

yea i was thinking the same thing, i see alot of void in FL etc. And thats where live. Im just curious to as to why that is...

 

Anyone have nay thoughts on that?????

Is there a way to see if you are signed up? I am not sure which day I signed up on, the 1st or b-4...hmmm     

Would be a nice promotion IF the registration would work...

 I asked this same question a while back but I can't find the post. Basically the reason, (and my info may not be exact), is because in those states Newegg has to pay a refundable fee to the state. That helps keep the BS sweepstakes/contest fraud down. The problem is that sometimes a sweepstakes comes along and there is not enough time to do the paper work needed to run the contest in those states.

 This particular sweepstakes looks like it has been in the works for quite a while though! But once AGAIN I am not able to join. I have been shopping at Newegg for many years, and posting here at eggxpert since it started and most contest I can't even join. I was at bensbargains for less than 3 weeks and won an 8gb iPod Nano! I am quite sure my past purchases/post's show my dedication to Newegg! This is final proof for me that they have NO DEDICATION for me!!!

I have never really complained about newegg. On the contrary, I have defended them many times. That changes now! I have 2 CompUSA's with-in 10 minutes of my house, but yet when it comes to my large purchases, I still purchased from Newegg. Google "CompUSA 32205" if you don't believe me! Since TigerDirect bought them, Their prices are competitive to Neweggs, and sometimes even better. I may still make purchases from Newegg, but it will only be the items that are priced to low to pass up, or CompUSA doesn't sell in store. I am done with the, "You can have, but you can't have BS"!

So thats why you probably cant participate in those locations.

I get the exact same error! I tried my parents phone number too, but that was also labeled invalid. And as for my birthday being invalid, well, that's impossible too; my birthday is my birthday... I even tried reversing the month/day just in case.

Thanks for the explanation. It seems like a stupid law though, since we have no way of knowing which sweepstakes filed the paperwork and which didn't.

I've been shopping at NewEgg for a while too, but last time I needed something I bought it from Amazon since it was cheaper, even with shipping. It's kind of ridiculous to pay $7 shipping for some of NewEgg's items.

 Just a question... For birthday did you put 1 - 1 - 99 or did you put 01-01-99? It makes a difference

I;m almost positive the reason Newegg can't have this contest in FL, RI, NY is because of state rules and regulations. TekeTurvor may be somewhat right but the state won't allow it. It really doesn't have to do with newegg as i beleive it would be complete BS if it was voided in those states cause of paperwork.

 

I must say I LOVE NEWEGG lol hopefully i win something, it would be a great b-day present lol

Is there any way to verify that one has been signed up for the promotion?  I was not sent to a confirmation page upon completing the form, nor have I received a confirmation email.  I did not see any indication of any errors either.

Newegg.ca Entry Page Error
We've been told that the "invalid" Date-of-Birth / Telephone Number error that was affecting the Canadian entry page has been fixed. If anyone experiences this error again, please let us know!

Verifying Sweepstakes Entry
After filling out the Sweepstakes Entry Form, you should be re-directed to a confirmation ("thank you for your participation") web page. No confirmation email is sent.

If you don't see the confirmation page, we recommend filling out the entry form again to make sure you're redirected afterward.
