    Re: Another Question For Root

    MrMonroe:

    root...

Did you derive your name here from the default "admin" name for database logins?

    mysql -u root -p

Sorta, heh. It's the Linux's administrator account (but there is only one root in Linux). The root account has all access, is all knowing, and has supreme power.

    *grin*

I just found out that my main account for Vista is not my administrator account. I'll be logging in differently from now on.

Like, Oh My Gosh! Root's name is based off of the default name for admin, really? The one also known as root? You just finally found out about this? Could this be a conspiracy? Is he trying to take over EggXperts, the internet, the whole world?Indifferent

    *End Sarcastic Rant*

    Stick out tongue

You know, there are some odd similarities between Root and me (AKA Minion) when compared to J.R.R. Tolkien's Morgoth (AKA Melkor/Root) and Sauron (AKA Me/PROACEX1) ...And others, like these (At random):
    Achilles and Patroclus...
    Gilgamesh and Enkidu...
    Simon and Garfunkel...
    Sonny and Cher...
Don Quixote (I'd be this guy; for obvious reasons) and Sancho Panza (This would be Root, for obvious reasons)...
    Or maybe Batman and Robin...
Or Sam and Max (I'd be Max AKA "It's the borderline sociopaths you have to worry about!" quote from 1-04: Abe Lincoln Must Die!)...Hehe...

    Stick out tongue

We're one of the great duo's of this age of Core 2 Duo's! ROFL

The answer to the question above is 42...Uh...Or, Root himself...

To build a PC or to not build a PC, that is a stupid question...An obvious one too...

Hmmm, 50/50. Depends on the type of restraunt. I love a good Meso Soup, but I also like La Madeline's Chicken Cesar Salad.

hehe. If you are dead set on the Quads (desktop), there will be some cheaper Yorkfields (the Q9300 is said to be as low as $266) slated for this month or next month, if you believe wiki.

If you are OK with your regular dual core, the Wolfdale-3M E7200 (the lowest dual core 45nm line) is said to be at a whopping $133 (wiki)

Here is another link with some pricing.

My own personal belief? Well if you look at the link that it's referenced to, it leads you to this artilce:

    http://www.digitimes.com/mobos/a20071218PD212.html

Which the author, of that particular part of the wiki, took that linked article as fact--which was published on December 19th 2007. I found a few more articles that point to Q1--which would put it in the Feb-March time frame. If I was going to believe it, I'd say mid to late March since we haven't heard any concrete news yet. Realistically? Your guess is as good as mine, but I'd say April sounds safe.

If you are going to save for it, you might as well wait for it

Ahhh. Well since Wiki is a collection of people's opinions, it's hard to generalize it. It really depends on what's being questioned. If it's dates, you can almost always find a reference to another site as to why the author of the wiki thinks its that date (if you note at the very top of that wiki page, there is a disclaimer stating it's speculation). Always check the references at the bottom if you aren't sure.

If the "reference" is a geocities page that has a million animated GIF's and a short paragraph on, say, Hitler being the greatest thing since sliced bread... it's probably bogus *grin*.
