Do you always run many applications at the same time? If so, you mush be cherish the space on task bar,
right? However, no matter browsing websites or using office applications, it is unavoidable to open several
windows at the same time, which will fill your task bar. Now, the grouping function in windows XP can put
same or similar applications in one group, which makes it possible to select several appl windows by click
on a certain window icon. Within the default configuration, the application which was run first will be arranged
in front. However, by modifying the regidit, we can still optimize this combination to adapt our habit.
1. Click “Start”à”run”
2. input “regedit.exe” to enter registry Editor
3. Open in file: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS\CURRENTVERSION\EXPLORER\ADVANCED]
4. Click “EditàNewàDWORD Value” on the menu bar, and name this DWORD Value as “TaskbarGroupSize”
5. Then double click and change the Dword value. Then meanings of the number are as follow:
0------The application which was run first will be arranged in front.
1------The largest application will be arranged in front.
2------Windows XP will compose two or more applications in one group
3------Windows XP will compose three or more applications in one group
Configure this according to your requirement, then close the Registry Editor and restart your computer.
Now you will find the taskbar was re-arranged and re-grouping as your configuration.
